OLYMPICS

Hey, are you all watching the Olympics? I watch whenever Ammon allows it and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Michael Phelps' race last night, where he won by one one hundredth of a second was a heart stopper! I couldn't believe he won. It's been such fun to watch his quest - and it gives me a great reason to cheer for the USA for a change. I'm glad the "Redeem Team" (basketball) is back and acting like human beings instead of spoiled, stuck up super stars. After such a tough year economically and every other way here in America, I think we needed a reason to cheer.
GO USA!!

That was a fantastic race last night! I couldn't believe it. I let Jess take a 5 minute rest when he walked in the door from camping before I made him watch it online. It was so incredible! I have definitely been staying up too late at night watching the olympics!

Speaking of staying up late to watch the Olympics, I'm definitely hooked too. Dara Torres' sportsmanship (her competitor's suit tore, so Dara let her know and asked the officials to wait on her competitor while she changed suits to start the race) is great too! Unfortunately we're not seeing anything until really late. It's all on around 10pm, meaning the gymnastics and big swim meets don't get done until around 1am here. Good thing these games are over before school starts up!

As soon as I got back from my camping trip, Jen had the replay cued up online and made me watch Phelps' win by 1/100 of a second.

It's been pretty amazing to watch. However, like you, I'm excited to get to bed before midnight again some day.
