Happy Birthday, Brenden!!!

11 years ago today our fourth boy was born. He tried to arrive 6 weeks earlier than he did, making his mother spend a month in the hospital on bed rest. I'm not sure that I have had a more difficult four weeks in my life. We were so happy we he finally came. Brenden is a gifted artist and writer. He has a poem being published in a book called Brilliance. It is a publication of The America Library of Poetry. Brenden's poem was also entered into a contest that will be decided on September 30th. If he wins, he will get a $500 Savings Bond. It will be interesting to see what he does with the next 11 years.

We love you Brenden.

Happy birthday, Brenden! So grown up now. I'm happy to know a little more about what you like to do. I would love to get a copy of that poem that you wrote!
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Actually Jason, sweetie,

Brenden tried to arrive 10 weeks earlier than his due date. I did spend 4 weeks in the hospital, then I had 2 weeks at home, then he arrived 4 weeks early. Good try. I kind of remember that well since I was so bummed out to be on bed rest for so long, but I did make the best of it and ended up loving the hospital. It was great in there and they let me order special food. I had donuts and cheetos and pop like everyday. I had a special menu. I got caught up on all kinds of movies, read some great books, cross stitched a ton and knitted over 15 washcloths. It was actually a vacation in there. Sorry your time wasn't so great. You did awesome with the 3 boys at home and juggling school and work and the children all alone. I felt so bad for you, especially the day the car broke down on the freeway and you walked with the 3 boys (all under age 4) on the freeway to the hospital. You are awesome Jason. And Brenden you are so special, thanks for trying to arrive so early so that I received that special vacation. There was a nurse that started going back to church because of you and she hadn't been in years. She said she wanted a family that was so happy like ours and I talked to her every day in the hospital. There are some pictures of this nurse holding you in your baby book.
