Happy Memorial Day

We sang "The Star Spangled Banner" yesterday in church. It was the first time I've ever felt this certain type of emotion during that song. With a few members of our ward currently deployed and Hans half-way through his 15 month deployment, it was an inspiring song. Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Thanks to all who have served!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Thank you Jess for your tenderness of feelings that compelled you to put this on the blog. I started to cry when I read the words of the SBB that you put on. I have sung it in Sacrament meeting many times, though not recently. It is very appropriate. Thanks again.

Thank you Jess for that. That was really nice. Hans actually really loves that song too.
