Tonight Ammon won the ward lip sync contest singing "Home" by Michael Buble. He brought the house down. He knew the entire song. He didn't know what lip sync was until this afternoon after school. Jim demonstrated and then Ammon practiced his song three times before leaving for Mutual. Gillian and I slipped into the room just as he was beginning his song. He did the entire song with facial expressions, hand movements and even faked playing the guitar in the spot where there were no words. It was so great! Everybody started swaying with their hands up. Everybody had their cell phones up taking pictures and after he was done it sounded like American Idol with shouts, whistles and cat calls.
I couldn't believe that he did this all by himself with so much self-confidence. One of his leaders was in tears with laughter because he was so absolutely blown out of the water. I thought Bishop Coates had been crying when he came up to me because he was so touched and happy.
After the evening was over, the winner was announced: AMMON CLARK!!
By the way, Kaitlin won this last year with a "So You Think You Can Dance" contest.
Rock on, Clarks!
