Snow Day

It has snowed so much up here! I am so ready for summer.. I HATE cold weather. I'm pretty sure we have the most snow out of all of the family. It sure isn't fun to shovel. I thought it was pretty cool that my camera showed the snowflakes when I took the picture so I thought I would put the pictures on here.

Holy crap, that is a lot of snow. We don't have snow. That is crazy, and beautiful and makes me miss home.

Provo got dumped on today. I was quite late for my class this morning. Luckily my professor was too. So many wrecks...

I really want to go sledding up there in Elk Ridge! I haven't played in the snow yet this year.

We've had maybe a total of 5 inches all winter! And that's being generous! We just get wind and rain. I would love to see that here! It's funny how you hate it when you have it, but miss it when you don't.

Although we have had a lot of snow here so far this year, it was 58 degrees the other day and there were flood warnings all over the place. Most of the snow has melted but there is another storm on the way today. I am just grateful that we don't have as much snow as Elk Ridge.

58 degrees! That sounds heavenly! Too bad it comes with flood warnings!

I just read in the paper today that Monticello, Indiana is flooded. The Tippacanoe River (sp?) has flooded over a 20 mile stretch. I wouldn't like floods -- I'll take the snow. Right now there's more than corn in Idiana --there's water and more water!!
This must have been part of the warm system that has gone through Jason's area.
Be safe, everybody!!

Ya, well, I wish we could loose the snow shovel and just stay home in a warm house. In Nebraska the power would go out and it would get 20 below zero and the wind would howl. Chores still had to be done, and fortunatly, the generator worked. It was wise to keep the bins full of feed so I would be able to use the tractor to run the generator instead of having to grind feed.

Are any of you old enough to remember?

It has been in the 50's here this week too but there has been a lot of wind--our power went out again because of it. Anyway, it is really nice to have a break from cold weather. On Monday it was in the 70's! It was wonderful and then there were tornado warnings that night. I miss the snow though. I'm sure I would be tired of it too if I were all of you but we don't get very much of that here so it would be nice to get a little.

Lance if you want to come up on saturday morning, I will go sledding with you. I am free until 3 and then I have to work. That would be fun.

Well, unlike all of you, we don't have snow, and I don't miss it either. I could care less if I ever lived in a cold place again! Texas sounds great to me! I never liked the snow. Germany is the most depressing place in the world during winter time. It's just dark and gray. It hasn't been too cold, just overcast, gray and rainy every day and it will be like that probably until May! If we get snow in March, I'm going to scream!

I remember winter's in NE all too well. My least favorite part was either having to thaw out the water pipes underneath the trailer or push the car out of the snow bank Dad had driven it into. I remember the day before Christmas in 1983. Dad (or Mom) had gotten that old Volare station wagon stuck a couple of hundred yards down the drive way. It was bitterly cold with a strong wind. I have never been so cold in my entire life. Word of warning. If you are going to place a 2X4 under the wheel to improve traction, make sure there is nothing behind the wheel like your children. When the wheel get traction, it shoots that 2X4 out like a bullet and really hurts the shins.
