Happy Conference Weekend

Some thoughts of Elder Eyring's call to the First Presidency. Other thoughts?

I got one of my bookshelves installed yesterday! Yeah. Happy day. It was cold and miserable again yesterday (snow down to 5,000', rain here most of the day, about 40 degrees). It was the second week in a row Abby's soccer game has been canceled.

Looking forward to the federal holiday tomorrow. I calculated that since Jan. 9, I've only used 30 hours of vacation. Jen was disappointed in that considering we had a baby since then. I've worked too much. On Jan. 9, I had about 7 hours of time off available. I currently have over 150. I need to take more time off and stop working the holidays. Tomorrow will be a great start. I will try to get the other bookshelf installed and lawn tilled up using a neighbor's tiller.

So how did the whole drilling work out? I have not heard.

Jess, you can still seed the lawn in the spring. It might be good to wait and see if any of the weed type grass comes up in the spring.
Then you can plant after you kill it once more. Roundup does not have a residual effect, so you can plant soon after its final use.

I was very happy to see that Elder Eyring was called to the First Presidency. His talks are always very insightful. I was very impressed with him when he was here in Iowa City for Stake conference a few months ago. His message then was as powerful as anything I have heard.

UI is very liberal with its vacation time but puts a cap (again a pretty liberal one) on the amount of vacation one can accrue. I have somewhere around 300 hours accrued and will cap out at 450. I need to take some time off also. Good luck with the lawn. I just had Caleb fertilize and overseed ours.
