Nauvoo

Last Thursday I went down to Nauvoo with my friend Rodona. She's never been there and I had never seen the pagent. What an incredible day it was. We arrived early in the morning and took some pictures of the temple and did some Nauvoo shopping like visiting the Fudge store and church bookstore. Then we headed to Carthage Jail. Wow that place was so incredible, the feelings there are awesome.
This is a picture of Rodona, (my friend from Idaho) and I with a statue of Joseph and Hyrum Smith in front of Carthage Jail. Below is the statue of Joseph and Hyrum Smith's last ride. That statue is across the street from the temple.

After Carthage Jail we came back to Nauvoo, changed clothes and went to the temple to do some temple work. After the temple work, the temple workers walked Rodona and I around to a couple rooms to show us some of the beautiful rooms in the temple. Kinda of like a mini tour, but not quite. They took us the long walk back to the fitting room. We got to see the baptismal font, the circular staircase and a couple sealing rooms. They treated us like we were the only people in the entire temple.

After the temple work we headed over to the pagent. It was awesome. You should all go see the pagent next summer or as soon as you can get here. It is better than any church pagent I've ever been to. This one is so incredible. At the end of the pagent the temple lights up and it's so beautiful and the spirit is so strong, everyone in the whole place is crying.

What a great day.

We have loved Nauvoo each time we've visited. The temple wasn't there, of course, and I would love to see it. We had a man come to our yearly work retreat and speak to us about creating the stained glass windows. He was the one that did all the beautiful glass work for the temple. It was fascinating and made me want to go to the temple even more.
I'm glad that Rhodona (sp?) has been able to visit. Sounds like you had an amazing time.
