I haven't been on the blog in awhile so I had a lot of catching up to do. I am not sure why I was so surprised that there were so many new posts that I hadn't read. Our life has been busy so I should have assumed everyone else's has been as well.
This last month, I have suffered through Cub Scout day camp, Boy Scout Camp (the mosquitos are huge and hungry this year), and a flooded basement - yes, the basement that I have half finished. It seems that every time I think we are going to have some extra money, something happens. I don't know whether to continue finishing the basement without addressing the problem or spend a lot of money figuring out why the basement flooded. I am hoping that it was a fluke event (we had 4.97" of rain in a couple of hours) but am not sure if I want to chance it since this kind of damage is not covered by insurance.
It has also been a rather eventful July so far. I had a woman have a grand mal seizure in my step class a couple of days ago. Apparently she had a history of petit mals but had never had a grand mal before. I felt so bad for her.
I hope all is well with everybody.

Welcome back to the blog...sorry to hear about your basement. I think 4.97" of rain would certainly scare me. Although maybe that's all I need to get my lawn back.
Good luck on the basement, whatever you decide to do.
I'm waiting for you to post your pictures of Spain. We want to share in the fun you had there.
I'm sorry to hear about your basement. Could you put in a sump pump? We had to have one in the last house we had in Indiana. The rain in the Midwest can be pretty fearsome sometimes.
Sorry about the basement. Our storm shelter is flooded too. I agree with mom...I want to see pictures of Spain.
Since we've started looking at homes in Ohio, we've seen a few seller disclosures and they almost all have some sort of water issues. It's a little scary for me to think the house could flood. Although, some areas in OH require flood insurance the closer you get to the river. I think we'll be further north than that, but drainage issues seem to keep coming up with these houses. I'm not sure what to look for...
We do have a sump pump. It apparently worked fine. Since we are not in a flood zone, we can't buy flood insurance which is the only kind of insurance that would have covered this type of problem (since the sump pump worked).
