Here is Alyssa with our cat Calvin.
Alyssa is very excited about being 8. She is leaving later to go swimming and have pizza with her little friend Michelle.
Her baptism is on August 4th at 10a.m. so if anyone wants to go, it's at our Chapel in Iowa City. My friend Rodona from Idaho will be there and maybe my sister, not sure yet on her, but Alyssa is excited to finally get to be baptized she said.

Holy cow, I can't believe she's already 8 years old. She's getting baptized during the family reunion, so maybe we all ought to go swimming during that time so we can all be wet!
I can't believe she is that old either. Don't you feel old now that your youngest is 8? I hope her baptism is awesome.
I will feel old when my youngest is 8. Thankfully I still have 3 more years. I really enjoy baptizing my children. It is one of the great experiences in my life.

Well, I think we all know Jason and Michelle are ancient, but Scottie is actually their youngest...right?
yes. I was being stupid. I know they have Scott still. I was having a mind blank. Maybe I'm the one getting old?
Well, Adrianne, you are 27 now...have your joints tightened up yet? How's the Geritol?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALYSSA!
I haven't checked on the blog for several days. I'm glad you posted this, Michelle. I cannot keep up with everybody. We now have 36 people in our family. I can't even remember my own kids' names or b-days - just ask them.
I hope she has a wonderful birthday and that her baptism is as special as she has been told it will be. I think she is a very beautiful young lady and I'm sure she is very ready to take this big step!
Congratulations, Alyssa!!

So how old is that beautiful cat?
I called Alyssa the other day and talked with her. She said her Mom and Dad were on their honeymoon. I think it was an aniversary honeymoon. That can be dangerous, huh, Mom.
I wish I could come to Iowa for the baptism. It is such a cool time for parents and kids.
