This and That

A few items/things happening:
  • I watered my lawn yesterday (2nd time this year) by manually opening the sprinkler valve. I opened the box, turned the lid over, and saw a huge (!) black widow spider sitting there. She was turned over, flashing her hourglass as if to say "Look at me...I'm dangerous...don't mess." So I got the camera and took a few pictures.
  • I got my swamp cooler up and running! Since we're going to hit the upper 80's this week and our second story cooks in the afternoon, Jen is very grateful. Like Mom, I keep telling myself that my swamp cooler is eventually going to just decide it's done, but it's still holding up now. If it goes out, I think we'll consider (just consider, probably) central air.
  • The Jazz have been doing awesome! What a fun playoffs this has been. However, since we don't have cable (I'm too cheap to pay for tv at this juncture in life), I haven't seen any of the second round games. I've had to rely on the good old fashioned radio, just as I did for many Giants' baseball games when I was a kid living in California.
  • I'm golfing today with some guys at work. I've become the event planner. When we have a pizza lunch, I'm the one who organizes everything. Same with this golf outing. This will be my second time golfing this year. I went two weeks ago with Lance, Adam, and Brent. I'm constantly amazed that Lance does as well as he does with less range and course time than either Adam, Brent, or myself. I have to work work work to be decent at all, and Lance just shows up and still scores better than me!
  • Looking forward to Mother's Day and a visit to Elk Ridge, although we'll all miss Dave's phone call.
Later!

Jess

Busy life! I was just telling Mike that I'm lucky I don't have to make Honey-do lists for him. He just makes them himself. Good husband.

Yeah, I don't think Jen's ever made a honey-do list, except for obvious things like "Hey, can you move the cedar chest downstairs?" We got a good thing going here...
