Today is Scott's Birthday. He is 5! He told me this morning, "Mom I'm happy about going to Kindergarten in the fall and eating cake tonight. I am excited for him. He seems so grown up and I feel old. His physical for Kindergarten is next week and then he will be all official.
On another note, I found out about a Cardiovascular study at the University and that starts tomorrow. It is a 4 session study of 2-4 hours each and involves needles, giving some blood and other "not fun" stuff done to your body, however I found out it pays $400 total for the whole thing so if I pass tomorrow after a 12 hour fast and if my BMI is under 25 then I get to participate. As of yesterday my BMI was 24.3 and that's using the Plasma center scale to figure my weight. Being a woman my weight fluctuates 2-4 pounds up and down weekly so I never really know what it is, so if by chance my weight goes up then I'll be over the 25 BMI and not able to participate.
I told the children that if I pass and make it through the entire study then we can all go to this indoor water park in Des Moines, IA and we'll go to the zoo there also.
Here's hoping I pass.

Ooh - good luck Michelle - sounds like it will be really close. I hope it all works out for you. Maybe the 12 hour fast will keep you on the underside of 25. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes!

I passed the weight test on the study. My weight went from 144 to 140.3 so I made it. This questionaire part of the study lasted 2 hours and included a Bone Scan and paid a total of $25. I can now be in the next 3 parts of the study. They will do all sorts of mean things to my body, but for $125 each time. I hope I make it through the next 3 sessions. Daniel asked me yesterday how soon we get to go to the Water Park and I told him as soon as this study is over and the last session is May 31st. So I'm guessing we will go in June.
