Daniel was hurt in gym class this morning. He hit is head really hard against a cement wall. He had to be ambulanced to the E.R. and now he is home resting. I am waking him up every 1/2 hour to check on him. He is in a lot of pain.
They did an x-ray of his face and an MRI to check for brain swelling so far those check out okay. I'll keep you all posted.

Oh man. I hope he is doing ok. Let us know if he is better.
Jason and Michelle,
Keep us informed as to Dan's progress/recovery. We hope he returns to normal soon.

Daniel started throwing up last night so we took him back to the hospital. We were there until late and then sent home. Because the throwing up stopped and he was able to keep down medicine they didn't admit him.
He passed all the neurological tests so he is fine (the doctors say)
Last night I was told to wake him couple hours.
This morning he seems better, but has a huge bump on the side of his head and says he's an 8 out of 10 in pain.
Poor guy. I do hope he feels better soon.
Thanks for the continued prayers in his behalf.
Oh, and I was wrong, he didn't get an MRI, he had a CAT scan instead. On the scan it didn't show any internal bleeding. They also did x-rays of the face to see if he broke anything.
I agree with your sentiment: Poor guy. I do hope he feels better soon.
Glad there is no internal bleeding or broken bones.
What happened to him? What was he doing in PE? That had to have been a pretty tough accident to give him such pain.
Tell him I'll keep him in my prayers and that I hope he gets back to normal quickly!

Who knew that p.e. was such a dangerous place!!? Give Dan our best -- we hope he gets well soon.
Daniel doesn't remember what happened during P.E. His last memory is starting P.E. class with some running exercises and then he remembers being loaded on the stretcher in the ambulance.
Today he is complaining of severe pain and I just gave him Motrin. The tylenol doesn't seem to work as well and he just moans with it and says he's in tons of pain.
I haven't received a straight answer from the school as to what happened. One child in the class says Daniel was pushed while he was running. Another child said No one was around him and he tripped and fell on the floor. Another child said the Daniel tripped and fell against the wall and then on the floor. The gym teacher was helping some students at the other end of the gym and doesn't know what happened. I guess we will never really know.
Daniel is still in severe pain and Jason is on his way to the ER to take him back to see if there is anything they can do
Goodness, Michelle - we hope Daniel feels better soon. The pain must be confusing since they keep saying he is okay. THanks for the continuous updates and please keep them coming!
Daniel is walking around and feeling better. He says his pain is decreasing and he is watching baseball. "The Angels are beating the White Sox" he said.
He is so much happier than earlier.
I hope this continues. Concussions are nasty things.
Daniel insisted on going to school today. He went about an hour late, but is feeling tons better. Since the ER wouldn't give us any medicine to make him feel better, Jason gave him a Mountain Dew and Daniel is on a high cloud. The caffine is doing wonders for his head, Daniel said his pain is around a 4-5 which is tons better than what it was yesterday.
