Jess and Jen welcomed their new baby daughter, Lauren Emma Clark, into the world today, February 27, 2007 at 11:53 a.m. She weighs 8 lbs 3 oz and is 20 1/2" long. She has tons of dark hair. Mom and baby are both doing well. I believe Jess said Jen's labor lasted about 2 hours.

Lauren will have the distinction of celebrating her birthday with her great uncle, Allen Teichert, who turned 63 today.
Grandma Clark - love that "Grandma" name. :)

Hey! Congrats to you all. I'm glad everything went well and that she's here, safe and sound.
Lauren Emma is a surprise, though, after we were expecting Emma Grace to come! Is there a story there? Lauren is sure, cute, though.

Well, we were laying in bed the night before discussing names. We had pretty much decided on Emma Grace, but neither of us felt very comfortable. Something was weird about it. Part of the problem with me was that Emma is the second most popular name in the US for the last three years in a row. Where's the origniality?
Also, there was no real connection to Grace. So I then told Jen: "Hey, you told me to pick a middle name, so I choose Emma as the middle name." We then quickly decided on Lauren Emma and were immediately comfortable with it.
Having said that, though, it is still weird to call her Lauren because we've been calling her either Emma or Emmie (Abby and Leah's version of Emma) for a few months now.
She's a cutie. I put two pictures on our blog if anyone wants to see.
