This morning at 5 am the bank marquee said that it was 3 degrees. At 8 am it was -2 degrees. Isn't is supposed to get warmer as the sun comes up? The wind is supposed to pick up this afternoon, making it feel even colder. I can already see the trees moving in the fresh morning breeze. Caleb actually allowed Michelle to drive him to the bus stop this morning and waited in the car with a friend until the bus came. You know it is cold when a teenager allows his mom to be seen with him at the bus stop. On the plus side, when it gets this cold, the Bald Eagles come trolling up and down the river. It is pretty cool to be looking out my lab window and see one of them floating by.

It was 21 degrees this morning and seemed warm. It's not as cold, by far, as in Iowa, but we've already had our fair share. We are SICK TO DEATH of rotten, cold weather! At least the small storm that came through yesterday cleared the inversion and we can breathe easier.
Did you see the devastation from the tornadoes in Florida this morning? That was right in the area where we were! Sad! We haven't heard if Nancy's folks are ok but will try to check with her and see.

Marlene Robinson e-mailed and said they had bad wind in Tampa, but nothing to serious. But the mess in Orlando, and to its south is massive.
What a difference a couple of weeks makes.
