COLTS

I have been waiting to see if someone in this family would show their true colors by posting something on the blog about the Colts winning the Super Bowl! I guess none of you were too excited about this long-awaited event?!? It was a sloppy, wet game but exciting, nonetheless. I'm sure David will be hoping that they will repeat this same thing next year when he is able to watch it. Hmmmm.....and I thought I had boys that were super sports fans. :)

The Colts won? None of us knew that because we were all hometeaching/visiting teaching, preparing for next week's lesson, etc... Besides, professional football is rarely as exciting as college ball (i.e. the BSU game).

Yeah, that's right...we were busy writing letters to missionaries and visiting old folks' homes, too.

Okay, maybe I wasn't. I was very excited to see the Colts win the game. I got a large 4' x 5' blanket for Christmas that said Indianapolis Colts. I hung that in my bay window last week for all my neighborhood to see and was very happy to see that I am able to keep it up for a while longer to celebrate the win.

I remember living in Walton and doing the dishes on a Sunday afternoon with a radio close by, dialed in to the AM frequency so I could listen to the Colts lose. They were 1-15 when we first moved there, lived through Jeff George, enjoyed a few decent years with Jim Harbaugh, and finally had a revival with Peyton Manning. I'll admit: I hated Peyton Manning in college. He played for Tennessee and Nebraska crushed them in the Orange Bowl one year, much to my delight. I can certainly appreciate his talent now.
