THANK YOU!!

I want to thank everybody for your fantastic help on Lance and Nancy's open house. I could not have pulled it off - not even close - without your help! The scrapbook pages Jen made from the photos of Jess and Chelsey and with Gillian's short tutorial on her computer program (and Gillian's pages as well)were extremely well done and I think they very appreciated by the new couple. Chelsey's flowers, as usual were gorgeous and her decorating eye was needed to shape up the final presentation. Gillian did a great job with the Nancy's hair. Brent, Jess and Adam all stuck the whole thing out, setting up and tearing down. Adam picked some great music and kept us swaying back and forth through the night. Amy's black bottoms were scrumptious and her help trimming up and hanging the photos took a lot of stress off me. I appreciated Kaitlin and Gillian helping with all the little kids. And I really appreciated Kaitlin's willingness to stay with her friends as they took care of the food and cleaned the mess up afterwards. I also need to mention the help the girls gave me cleaning up the house before everyone came. Dad - well, he was the major force behind holding a reception here. I wasn't too excited about the prospect because of the work it takes but Dad loves the idea of marriage and is always so excited to have one of his kids get married that he jumped on board before I did. And he stayed on board. He made a thousand phone calls for me, arranged all the behind-the-scene stuff and kept going. I don't know if I really understand all the things he did accomplish but it was his driving force that kept me going. You are all a great force when you work together and I hope you were satisfied that things turned out well last night.
We received many compliments and one woman even said today, "When my kids get married, I am going to call Chris Clark." I told her I would be happy to help as long as I didn't have to make any decisions!
I'm sorry that we missed Jason and family, Adriane and her family and Lindsey and her family. We felt your absence but know that you are happy for the couple.
Shoot, by the time everybody is married, we'll have this thing down so well we ought to go into business - not me, but the whole group! Did I say that?!? Go wash out my mouth with soap.
NO WEDDING FOR THREE YEARS!! It's going to take my legs, feet and hips that long to recover.
Thank you again everybody. I hope I didn't forget anyone and the various things you did -- just know that Dad and I love you and appreciate the way you all pitch in and help us create happy memories.
A very tired but satisfied mom.

Am I to understnd that you had the reception at the house? I thought it was at the church. So, when do we get to see the pictures? How many people came?

I for one would like to see pictures of both the wedding and reception. I know it probably doesn't matter to the rest of you that were able to be there but I think I speak for Jason, Lindsey, and I when I say that we don't want to be left out and would love some pictures.

Lindsey,
Oh no, we didn't hold it at the house - it was at the church. The kids took lots of photos so I am sure they will be putting them on the blog. Maybe we could put something together in the way of a slide show, CD or something of a collection of all the photos taken so we can have it for everyone.
We had quite a good turn out - not as many from the ward as I thought, but I found out on Sunday that quite a few people did not recieve their invitations and they were on the list. This seems to happen frequently but there's not much we can do about it now.
It was well attended, nevertheless. I was glad to wrap it up and sit down!

I know that Adam had his camera and took lots of pictures and so I will see if I can get him to post them (sometimes it's tricky to get him to commit to something in a timely manner...). Hopefully the pictures will be up soon!

By the way - the black bottoms were a teamclark effort - Adam and I did them together. Thank you to Adam!

Michelle, I hear mom and dad weren't responsible for the invites this time. So, we can know that they didn't forget you, or me for that matter. We got the invite and they were beautiful. I for one, am not excited for the day when I have to be in charge of a child's wedding. Luckily, most of your kids are boys so you shouldn't have to worry about sending the invitations.

Amy and Adam, I'm excited to see the pictures! Thanks for taking them. Adam takes awesome pictures. We have the ones he took for our wedding all over our house. We will be forever grateful. And, when hearing you were all making black bottoms it made me want some so we are making them this weekend!
