Please...help...I can't breathe!

I think we're working on 14 or 15 days of 32 degrees or lower as the day time high temperature in Salt Lake City. The cold I can handle (although my gas bill this month is $177), but it's the stinking inversion that I can't handle. We have such horrible air quality during these winter inversions that it's downright unhealthy. We can't see across the valley it's so bad.

The really sad thing is that on the news, they are reporting that Alta and Solitude Ski Resorts are having high temperatures warmer than 45 degrees -- up at 9,000' -- and we're wallowing in our own pollution at a dreary 32 or colder degrees. Ugh.

Time to move away from the populated basin and range geography.

I agree. This weather is getting us all down. Can you actually develop asthma from breathing this junk? It wouldn't suprise me at all!
Even a good blizzard would be better that this stuff!

I have coughed every time I go outside since the week after Christmas. I didn't cough once in Florida, but it returned as soon as we got back to Utah. This is the worst air I've ever seen. The inversion is so bad that it has even reached us up here. We usually just look down on the mess as we start our way down into the valley. But it's clear up here. Now that the reception is over, bring on the snow, rain, wind, or whatever it takes to clean this air up. The junk is probably why all the little kids are sick and can't seem to get better! YUK! I'm tempted to move out of here. But where?? I guess Cokeville would always be safe from this stuff - nothing is up there - not even jobs, people, etc. But the air is frigidly clean.

I saw on the news today that it was like 7 degrees for the high in Utah. Yikes!!! I think the only state colder was Wisconsin. Sorry guys.

wow! I didn't ever think I would be happy to be in Germany for winter, but apparently, pigs are flying because I'm happy to be here for this winter and not in Utah. We got snow for the first time this entire season just the other night. However, it was just a really light covering and it immediately melted in the morning. This winter has been extremely tame so far. We have only had about five or six days of 30 or below weather this entire season. However, it is really windy which makes it feel much colder. This is the best winter I've had in years! I'm sorry for everyone out there. I hope things get better. Just think, when things are getting better there, our winter will finally be starting and we'll have snow in june! Just my luck.
