I feel bad for you Utahites

I happened to see that the weather in Provo is -4 degrees. Yikes. Them is some cold cookies! We are not that cold here. I wanted to show you this picture though. We had an ice storm here too. Thankfully we didn't lose any power, although I heard a lot of people did. Anyway, the picture looks like we got snow but don't be fooled. You would expect to walk outside and make an indention in the "snow." But, it isn't snow, just ice. So you walk outside on a thick sheet of ice. Mike and Will kicked the ball around yesterday and you can see there is hardly any sign that they were even in the backyard. You can see that Mike had to get into the storm shelter and had to break all the ice away from the door. I thought it was pretty cool. The other cool thing is that we pretty much just got sleet and ice but when it started there was thunder and lightning. I didn't know it could thunder and lightning during an ice storm.

I'm not quite understanding this whole ice storm thing. I guess most of your family has experienced them growing up, but I dont' even know what to imagine. Sure sounds interesting though. But how come you have them and we don't? Is it a humidity thing? Because it must not be a temperature thing because we're sure been cold this last week. Hmmm...it's all very interesting.
I'm glad you didn't lose power, though.
Hope your weather looks up soon!

Amy...I'm with you. Jess was explaining it to me the other day! Maybe snow isn't so bad after all.

I talked to Jess a few hours ago and he and Chelsey and Chris were going to try to make it to the beach before the reception tonight! So lucky! I'm awfully jealous!

A warm beach sounds really good right now. I'm jealous too.

I guess they decided they didn't have enough time for the beach...but Jess did go swimming in the pool!

I went to get groceries yesterday and drove on the roads for the first time in a week. I would take snow anyday! It was really scary. We are supposed to get another storm Friday with 4-12 inches of snow. I am afraid we are going to be stuck in this house for ever--like March. It's cold and gloomy and there is still ice everywhere. We couldn't even get our car in our driveway because of the ice.
