We finally made it to Elk Ridge! It had been quite some time since the four of us ventured in our Venture to Mom and Dad's. We got there yesterday (Saturday) around 9:30am and then I climbed into the attic. Lance and Dad started a project some time ago to replace the existing copper water line that goes down to the ice maker. Lance started putting in the new plastic water line, but couldn't get the existing copper pipe out of the wall. I tried as well (pulling it up from the attic) but was unsuccessful. Then Dad realized that the pipe, curved through a stud and that with the fitting on the end, it'd never come up. So we drilled a new hole in the plate on the top of the wall, dropped the new plastic pipe down and Dad caught it and pulled it out into the kitchen.
The connections weren't working very well, so we made a quick trip to the hardware store in Payson for a few parts. Finally, 5 lbs. and a few hours later, we were done. Mom and Dad treated us to lunch, and we had a fun time just hanging out with the fam. We got to see Gillian, Kaitlin, and Ammon as well.
While I was laboring in the attic, everyone else (sans Dad) walked down to the city park and participated in the town carnival. Abby and Ammon both went fishing and got to dunk someone at the dunking booth. Abby was too chicken to get on the choo choo train.
We only live an hour north of Mom and Dad, but it often seems like it's an ordeal to get down to Elk Ridge. You'd think we'd already moved out of state!

Dad called last night and said there was water leaking from somewhere. I guess the job is not done. More attic clamboring!
