This took place under gazebo outside building where I work. The people that work in the G1 are in the background but didn't get in picture. In answer to previous blog....Thanks! The rank of Captain used to take longer and be harder to get. In these times it takes only about 3 years. To get selected your promotion packet gets looked at by a board and they assign you a score based on how you compare against the other Lieutenants, who came into the army the same year as you, that you are competing with. I am now working in G1 which does human resources related work, from chemical where I started and then a brief few months in the G8- finance related work. Given that I started as an accounting major, I did not see myself working in any of these jobs, but of all of them I probably am the most ignorant in this one, being that at least the army trained me to some extent in chemical. Moving from one job to next without much training has been my experience since I came in army. I better get out before they put me in a position where I can really do some damage. Seriously tho I am tired of all this, especially working with people which I am awkward, not good at. Can't wait to get out one day and into something less important where I don't have to worry about mistakes affecting others so much, and just work a mundane job where I can concentrate on my family and tired old soul can rest.

Thank you for you posting. It is very interesting to find out what is happening to you. I told Lindsey on the phone today that my old friend,Ron Dunn, who happened to also be my best man at my wedding, retired as a full Bird Colonel a few years ago in the Army. At one time he was the Chief of Staff of Medical Services in Europe. He in the Stake Presidency in 1976 in Frankfort, Germany. He had been on three different bases in your area a various times.

Part of the reason I tell you that is that you need to know that the constant stretching of your self in your work will make you into a great man. Not just the great one that you are now, but a man full of exerience and capability, able to help his fellow man in ways that you now do not even think of.

Keep up the good work, I am proud of you.

Love, Dad Clark

Congrats, Hans. Things work a little differently in the Air Force for promotions. You don't get 1st Lt until after 2 years, and you don't get Capt until after 4 years. But, there is no Capt board, as long as you haven't done anything illegal you will be a Captain at 4 years.

The job switching is interesting to me. Right now I am in a Maintenance Wing doing what I think a maintenance officer would do. At 18 months here, I will probably be reassigned to an engineering organization and will do engineering type work. They switch us around, but we don't have as drastic changes in our assignments as you seem to have. Good luck, and congrats once again.
