Today has been a good day for us and Abby. Abby woke up after 8 am, dressed herself in a summer dress before we even knew she was awake, and came downstairs all chipper and cheery. Abby was an absolute delight all day long. She was super cute, she said super cute things, and was the little girl we always hoped we'd have! Let's hope we have more of these.
We visited Mom and Dad today in Elk Ridge. Lance also graced us with his presence up there, so we had to share some of the cinnamon rolls Mom made. We went up to Elk Ridge to bring a couch for their basement (sigh...I'll miss that couch...Jen and I had some good memories...oh, wait...OW! Jen...I'm just kidding!).
Today was also the hottest day of the year over 105 in some towns here on the Wasatch Front. So what did I do? I went golfing in Magna with two guys in my ward. The 2nd counselor in my bishopbric works at the golf course out there and we went with him. Green fees are typically $20 for 18 holes and a cart. Not today. He treated us to 18 holes, a cart, a bottle of water, and a 20 oz. Gatorade. Nice hookup, eh? I golfed well on the front 9 (52, which is a decent score for me), and fell apart on the back 9. Let's just say that score won't be published.
Anway, a good day overall. A little hot. But good overall. Yo.

Thanks for sharing that you feel our pain. Yesterday was 103 in our town. All we did outside was walk from the car to the store and Mike mowed. Dad said David has only gotten two days so far that have been in the 80's. I'm wondering, does that mean it is cold all the time or just nice weather all the time. Anyway, today is forcasted at 101 I think which means it will actually be hotter because yesterday was only supposed to be 100. Rotten weather!
I really wish you guys would keep all of your hot weather out West. I really don't like it. It is 9:30 am and it is already 97 degrees outside (with the heat index). It is supposed to reach 109 degrees today. I think I am going to melt. Days like today make me very glad that I went to college and no longer have to work outside. When scout camp ended in 1988, I worked for two weeks at a steel yard right before school started. I had to wear long pants and boots. I don't think I have been that miserable in a long time. August in Sacramento is horribly hot. I am glad there was no humidity to complicate the issue.
By the way, Jess, next time we are at Mom and Dad's, will you please point out the couch you brought down? I would like to avoid it as much as possible in light of it's past.
Jason
I think we'd all like to avoid that couch now Jess. Now that Jen's thoroughly embarrassed....
It's pretty darn comfortable -- we're sure grateful that we have kids that can give us hand-me-downs! (Kind of pathetic at our age, huh!)
Thanks to both Jess and Jen, we now have enough room for many people come visit, watch TV, etc.
I don't know...I'm kind of proud of Jess and Jen. At least he's willing to fess up to it. You have to enjoy the simple pleasures in life right?! I thought Jason of all people would understand this. :)

Sex is much more than a simple pleasure. For some of us it is a little like Christmas - it comes once a year (that was a good one, wasn't it?). Now that I have said that it will be Christmas before my bedroom heats up with anything but the sun. Oh, well. I guess there is always Mom and Dad's new couch.
Kids Kids Kids...the sexual reference to the couch as completely made up. I have no idea or recollection of any kind of hanky panky on that particular couch. How can I pin it down to one couch? We've been on so many surfaces in our house that I can't even hope to remember which ones we haven't (OW! Geez, Jen! I'm still kidding! Stop hitting me!).
