BABYSITTING JOB COMPLETE

Well, my babysitting job of baby kittens came to an abrupt close today. Jim had the county come up and bring a trap to catch the wild momma and poppa cats and gave the kittens to the county to take to an animal shelter. We were all sad, but they needed to go somewhere else. I wanted to keep the long-haired grey kitten, but Jim didn't want a long-haired cat and the other two were having problems being litter trained. This morning when I opened up the bathroom door, it reminded me of the scene in Tarzan where the animals trashed the camp. The whole bathroom was trashed -- poop all over, floor was wet and it was a mess. The litter box had been used, but obviously not by all of the kittens. We decided that they needed to go. The girls were sad but I think they are happy not to have to clean up the bathroom 2-3 times a day. I guess we are not a patient group. Outdoor pets are still the best as long as you can keep them around. Jim was able to trap the father cat but the mother cat is very wary and has not been caught as of yet. I hope we catch her because she is a definite irritation!
Anyway, so much for my "nuturing."
