I went to the house this morning and there was a note saying that they would come get the stuff they left in the garage on Saturday and that they left boxes in the storm shelter for their son to come get. They left their car in the driveway and gave the key to someone (a neighbor, I think) so if we needed to move it we could go get the key. They said to leave the stuff under the sink. They took a door off one of the cubboards in the hallway (to fix, they said) and would bring it back and they left their cats. They said their son would come and feed him and they would pick the cats up on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. So, apparently, their son has a key to our house and when we move in, they are going to be in the way getting their things. They didn't clean at all, and left the vaccuum in the living room (which is mcuh nicer than our DI $8 vaccuum so maybe we will keep it). We have closed and paid for the house--it is ours. They shouldn't be coming to our house anymore and they shouldn't have left anything. I am so angry!!
P.S. Sorry Jason, about your thing. Our agent said he gives the sellers 24 hours to accept the offer so they couldn't wait for a better deal. I truly feel for you and hope you still get the house. Maybe everyone should always rent!!!

I think you ought to take all their stuff out and leave it in the driveway. You should get your doors re-keyed (we did that for all our doors for about $70) so his keys aren't viable anymore.
Like Chelsey said, this is your house and they should have cleaned it all out. This really is a breach of contract and you have every legal right to back out of it if you wanted.
Oh, and I'd keep the vacuum. It's in your home and it's now yours.
What is a sky island?
Think of a sky island as West Mountain...but bigger, taller, and with more vegetation than Pinyon Juniper and grass. They are free-standing mtn. ranges or peaks that rise abruptly from the surrounding landscape. We easily went from 3000' to 10000' on the Nuttall Fire mentioned and shown above. In the articles, they mention that they are "islands" because they are really separate from other lands with comparable climates, elevations, and species.
