I came home one day last week and noticed my hanging basket of flowers was looking weird, it was pushed out from the middle. I thought it needed watered so I took it down to water it and look what I found . . .
There was a nest in it with 2 eggs, but today I took it down and there are 5 eggs. Jason is not happy that they are sparrow eggs. He considers sparrows one of the most annoying birds, but it will be fun to have baby birds just outside the window. Does anyone know how many days they take to hatch? We are moving in 8 days so I'm hoping they will hatch before we move.
HAPPY SPRING!!!

That's awesome! My kids would love that! Just this morning at school, Sarah found a dead little baby bird lying on a lawn next to the school. She was so upset that we had to have a little burial for it ( with some serious handwashing) and wondered if grandpa would know how to bring him back alive since he has pigeons. I think she's destined to be a vet. She cries if she doesn't get to pet all the neighbors animals everyday. She's their dog walker!

We have a nest in our willow tree in the backyard that has two new birds. Abby is enthralled by them.

Abby and Leah both love our neighbor's dog...the small type. They aren't into full size dogs like labs, but they absolutely love smaller dogs.

Anybody want a cute little kitten? We finally found the three little ones in our garage. We are going to have to take them away from the mother very soon or else they will become wild like she is. There is one dark gray (nearly black) and two white ones like the daddy. Would Abby or Leah like a kitty??? Maybe that is what our birthday present will be to her. :)

In the tree next to our appartment, there was a nest with three little baby birds. Well, they all fell out and were still alive until our neighbor's great dane didn't see them. He stepped on the first one and instantly killed it. We saved the other two by putting them in a basket and tying it to the tree close to the nest to the mother would find them. There is only one left though because the other one died I think of a broken neck. Kind of sad huh?! I suppose Sarah wouldn't want to pet that great dane after he killed that baby bird huh! Well, at least there's one left.
